Keren Edmondson is a brain injury solicitor at Coulthursts, with more than 26 years of personal injury experience. She joined the firm to focus on serious injury work and to give each client the time their case deserves.
Experience and specialism
Keren has handled the full range of personal injury claims throughout her career. Her work spans road traffic accidents, employers' liability, public liability, and medical and dental negligence. In recent years she has acted particularly for cyclists and other vulnerable road users.
She has managed claims involving a wide range of injuries, including head injuries. Her experience runs from low-value, fast-track matters through to complex multi-track litigation. Keren handles each case from the first enquiry through to settlement, trial, and costs negotiations. She has also dealt with claims through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority and the Motor Insurers' Bureau.
Qualifications and background
Keren qualified as a solicitor in 2001. She trained at Brown, Dunne & Co Solicitors, which later became Dunne & Co Solicitors. She holds an LLB (2:1) and completed the Legal Practice Course with commendation. She has previously been a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS).
Notable cases
Keren has secured justice for clients in difficult, hard-fought claims. She represented the driver of a minibus involved in a serious head-on collision with a lorry. Although liability was admitted, the insurers accused her client of exaggerating his injuries and took the case to a three-day trial. Keren negotiated a settlement during the trial, securing the outcome her client deserved after a serious accident and an unfounded allegation of dishonesty.
She also acted for a young hairdresser who suffered a serious leg fracture in an accident at work. Liability was initially denied, but Keren negotiated a settlement once court proceedings were issued.
Working with clients
Keren builds strong relationships with her clients from the very first meeting. She places particular value on representing vulnerable clients who need reassurance and support throughout the legal process. She works closely with each person to earn their trust and achieve the best possible outcome.
At Coulthursts
Keren joined Coulthursts to specialise and to dedicate more time to her cases and her clients. She was drawn to the firm's commitment to excellent client service and early rehabilitation, and to its collaborative approach to handling claims. As her role develops, she looks forward to deepening her understanding of brain injury and to supporting her colleagues.
Outside work
Outside the office, Keren enjoys travelling to new places whenever she can. She plays tennis and padel, attends live music events, and spends time with her family.
