We are seeking additional Serious Injury Lawyers to join our growing team.

The Role

For the right candidate, an opportunity exists for their career to develop and progress along with the firm to gain experience in high-value and complex TBI cases.  One of the central strategies of the firm is for each lawyer to have very low caseloads and the expectation of excellence. Opportunities are also available for a role with a mixed serious injury TBI and clinical negligence caseload. Future career opportunities will also continue to be available, dependent upon the candidate’s goals and aspirations.

The Person

Previous experience in multi-track serious injury cases is essential, but extensive experience in TBI cases is not essential as training shall be provided.

Experience of cases involving clinical negligence and other complex issues of causation such as chronic pain, is highly desirable given the complex nature of our work.

What is of paramount importance is you answered ‘yes’ to the above questions and pride yourself on your excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills with a desire to continue to learn. We focus on very low caseloads and supporting the whole family together with developing relationships in the healthcare and third sector.  You will obviously be well organised and show initiative and attention to detail, but you really do need to have the compassion to help those who have been affected by brain injury and an enthusiasm to learn and to make a difference to clients and their families’ lives.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Low-volume, high-value caseload of TBI cases.
  • Managing caseload of TBI (with potential opportunities also available in Clinical Negligence) cases.
  • Conducting home and hospital visits to clients and their families as required.  We act for clients nationally.
  • Helping to build our reputation and promote our values.
  • Other such duties commensurate with the post.

Essential:

  • Qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal executive with at least 7 years PQE
  • Sound experience of high-value claims.
  • Experience of cases involving complex issues of causation.
  • A willingness to learn and develop.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent client-care skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Passionate and committed to helping those affected by life-changing injuries.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to work to key performance indicators.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Approachable and able to build relationships internally and externally with key contacts.
  • Hands-on attitude and an ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Demonstrates trust and integrity.
  • A full driving licence and car as occasional home visits to clients may be required.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel.

Desirable but not required:

  • Experience of ABI clinical negligence claims.
  • Previous experience of high and maximum-value CICA claims.
