Richard Langton is a hugely experienced senior lawyer who has campaigned for three decades to win a fair deal for clients with life-changing injuries sustained through a wide variety of accidents. Clients benefit particularly from his specialised work with brain injury cases and from his experience of dealing with children, young adults and their families.
Richard, who has worked senior partner level, has been a trustee for over 20 years and is now the Chair of Headway Birmingham and Solihull, one of the biggest Headway groups in the country assisting people with an acquired brain injury as well as their families and their carers.
He is a past President and honorary life-time member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and a member of the Forum of Complex Injury Solicitors. In addition, he has lectured to APIL Brain Injury Conference and Headway groups on the Mental Capacity Act and decision making for patients in the role of deputy. He was shortlisted for the PI Lawyer of the Year Award in 2010 and has an impressive nationwide reputation recorded in a leading lawyers’ directory due to his involvement in high profile cases which have been reported in the national media.
Richard has previously campaigned for changes in the law to protect vulnerable road users and has spent much of his career representing clients whose lives have been devastated by avoidable injuries.
He was keen to join Coulthursts because of its ethos of providing injured clients with access to the best rehabilitation, treatment and support available while preparing their claims for compensation. He feels this gives people with an acquired brain injury the best possible chance of a maximum recovery to independence.
